On leaving school, I secured a position as a trainee Estimator/Quantity Surveyor for a small local building contractor, where I earned my BSc in Quantity Surveying. Working in a predominantly male industry provided a shy teenage girl like me, with a solid foundation for the beginning of my career.

During the 2010 recession, I transitioned out of the construction sector, entering the recruitment field, which led me to work for a large national company for the next 7 years.

In 2018, after welcoming my second child, I chose to take time off to be a full-time mum.

When I felt ready to return to work, I accepted a position with Veterans into Logistics. Initially, it was only meant to be a stopgap, but it turned out to be the best decision I’ve ever made.

Many of the individuals we support have faced difficult journeys at some point in their lives and being able to help them turn their lives around is very rewarding.

Seeing how far the charity has come in the short amount of time I’ve been here is incredible.
